Carpet Overview
Carpet is usually the most affordable of the flooring styles, provides warmth and color, texture and design. Carpeting is available for all budget levels. Don't forget the padding.
Carpet Types
Nylon
One of the best values in carpet fibers. Provides the best in performance, color, and style selection at a reasonable price. There are many nylon fibers available.
Wool
While it counts for only a small part of carpet fiber in use today, It is the oldest and is still considered to be one of the most luxurious. Not as durable as nylon under heavy traffic.
Polyester
Synthetic fiber allowing for a soft feel but with less durability as nylon. Best suited for low traffic areas where color and style are the main focus.
Polypropylene Fiber
A special use carpet fiber with the ability to resist moisture. It is relatively easy to clean ( except for oil-based stains ) and is used primarily used as indoor/ outdoor carpeting.
